Week 34: "Jesus Said Love Everyone" (:

Hello everyone!!(: I hope you all had the best week ever! It was a
crazy, busy, wonderful week here in Casper. Also, Happy Memorial Day!!
I'm so thankful for the people who have served and are serving to keep
us safe and free.

We had an awesome lesson with cute lil Sister C______. She is such a
sweetheart. We talked to her about prophets. It was really cool
hearing her testimony of Joseph Smith. She still has such a strong
testimony of the happiness that the gospel brings, I know that she
will come back eventually. It's just a matter of time, and I know the
Lord's timing is perfect, so it will work out(:

There is this awesome place called Joshua's Storehouse here. It's
where we go and do service. This week, some really awesome things
happened while we were serving there. We work up in the front,
distributing the food to people who come in. This man came in and was
like "Are you Mormons?" and I was like "Yeah we're missionaries from
the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,". He proceeded to
tell us that he used to be LDS and that he didn't think we helped
people outside of our faith. He said seeing us serving in the
community really opened his eyes and showed him that we love everyone.
It was so cool(: then, this other lady came in and she had on this
pretty blue eyeshadow. I told her I liked it and she looked at me and
got all teary eyed and said, "Thank you so much. You have no idea how
much I needed that today. Thank you so much for being here and doing
this, I am so thankful you're here. This is a good thing you're
doing,". It was so sweet and a moment I won't ever forget. Saying one
nice thing to someone or just smiling at them really can turn their
whole day around. So many people have done that for me, and I'm so
thankful for their kindness and love(:
We had a super inspiring District Meeting this week. It's amazing
feeling so much support from the other missionaries that we're serving
around. We are able to share in our miracles and our struggles, and
that's a huge blessing. Then we were able to have an awesome lesson
with the C______________'s. They are such amazing and positive people, and
they have progressed in leaps and bounds. They are both striving to
follow the commandments and it's so cool to see their willingness.

We had an amazing lesson with our investigator B_____S__ and her
wonderful family. We taught the Restoration and it was super spiritual
because B_______S___ was basically teaching her children about it (she's
heard the lesson before, but her sons hadn't yet). She's such a good
mom and person and I'm so incredibly excited for her to experience all
the joys of the gospel. I love her already(:

Friday was literally insane but so awesome. We had an iPad conference
in Fort Collins, and we had to pick up the Sisters in Lusk, which
meant waking up at 2:30 a.m., exercising, and then beginning our fun
road trip! We got to hear from Elder Nielson from the Seventy. He gave
such an awesome training on how we are supposed to use the new
technology to further our work as missionaries. It was really cool
because he talked about how we are learning skills and self control
now that will bless the lives of all those that we now love and that
we will love. The First Presidency was talking about the dangers of
the Internet and the difficult things that Satan puts in our path as
we use technology. The best filter that we have is our own agency and
the gift of the Holy Ghost, and it was amazing hearing Elder Nielsen
talk about how the First Presidency and the Lord trust us enough to be
using the iPads. He also talked about how all of us have experiences
that we aren't proud of, choices we make that we wish we could take
back, but that the Lord will never ever be disappointed in us if we
make the choice to repent and change our ways. The Atonement gives
each of us a chance to make things right with our Heavenly Father, and
I am so incredibly thankful for that(: what an amazing blessing.

We went on exchanges with the Lusk Sisters, and it was awesome. I got
to be with Sister Randall in Lusk and it was so great. She is such a
hard working missionary and we were able to have many spiritual
experiences together. One of the greatest was that as we were driving,
we saw this family planting trees, so we pulled over and went to see
if they needed help. As we planted trees, we were able to talk about
the gospel, our testimonies, and their family. We were invited to have
lunch at their house afterwards, and we gave Mr. K_____ a Book of
Mormon. We were able to talk to him about the history of it all, and
about the amazing promise in Moroni 10. He said that he is going to
read it and the Lusk Sisters are going to be helping his wife with
service next weekend!! So exciting(: it's amazing how the Lord places
people in our path, and we simply have to reach out. I also got to
meet one of their investigators, and she was such a sweet lady with
such a huge testimony of God's love. It was awesome.

Something that really stuck out to me this week is how kind everyone
is here in Wyoming. People are just genuinely nice, and I love that.
We are all going through this difficult journey of mortal life, and
you never know when being kind to someone and doing something simple
and loving can completely change their life. We feel so much more joy
when we are loving others. A quote from Gordon B. Hinckley that was
talked about in our conference is, "A person who is light-minded makes
fun of sacred things and of other people. A person who is
light-hearted can see the joy and humor in life and laugh in the midst
of trials,". I hope that this week, we can all laugh and love more. We
are all God's children, we need to be here for each other(:

I love you allHeavy black heart️ I hope you have a wonderful week and remember to
smile!!! We have so much to be happy about(:

Week 33: "It's A Good Day, Every Day" (:

Me and my new companion, Sister Williamson! (:

Hey everyone!(: This week has been crazy busy but so awesome. I'm so thankful to be serving in Casper. I've met people that I know I'm meant to be here for, and it's amazing to know that Heavenly Father really does have the best plan for my mission and my life.

We moved apartments as soon as I got here! It was a little hectic but our new place is so much better than the old one and is a lot closer to our area, so it's really nice. We had an awesome experience happen. We had just gotten done having dinner with the Ball's (they are seriously some of the nicest people that I've ever met). Sister Ball told me, "You can tell your mom that you have a family here that loves you and is going to take care of you,". She's so sweet. Also, she makes some of the best allergy-free food that I have ever eaten. Anyways, we were walking home from their house and we saw this couple trying to move a water bed into their trailer. We asked if they needed help and the woman said, "No thanks. Hey, are you missionaries?" and we were like, "Yes!". She proceeded to tell us to come inside. Turns out she is a less-active member of the church! We were able to share a message about God's love for her, and it was so cool to see her bear her testimony of the gospel. She has been through a lot of hardship, especially recently, but I know that we were meant to find her so that she could be reminded that she is never alone(: We are excited to continue to meet with her!
Me and my very cool pen holder...."Schmidt" (New Girl fans will understand) (:

B______ S__, our investigator, fed us dinner on Thursday. It was so nice to get to know her. Their whole family is so hilarious. They had a couple of friends over who are also members and it was lots of fun. We were able to share a message about the 2000 Stripling Warriors and it was really cool. B______ S__ is so nice and I'm excited to continue to serve and love her and her family and help her prepare to be baptized. Her son is also preparing for baptism(: So exciting!

We had an awesome Zone Meeting this week! We gave a training at it on Charity and Patience. The Zone Leaders gave a really awesome training on being better and more unified missionaries. They left us with a challenge: to pray to see ourselves clearly. That way, we can see what it is that we can improve on and what God wants us to do in order to make those improvements. That simple challenge has helped me so much this week. I have grown closer to my Savior and my Heavenly Father because of it, and I know what I need to do to be the best me that I can be.
A picture from last week in Longmont....(:

Last night, I had one of the best experiences I've ever had on my mission. We were visiting the S_________. They are less-active, and they are such a wonderful couple. Brother S______ opened up a lot about how he lost his faith when his wife was going through all of her medical problems. He was angry at God and he turned away from him. He then talked about how he was able to repent and how he's felt his faith growing, but it's still not where it used to be. It was so cool, because the Holy Ghost prompted me to share with him the challenge that we were given at Zone Meeting. I was able to invite him to pray to see himself clearly, and to promise Heavenly Father that whatever it is that he needs to change, he'll do it. He said that he had never thought to ask that before, and that he is going to do it. It was really amazing feeling the spirit so strongly and knowing that it really is something that God can help him with. We already know a few of the things that are holding him back, but he doesn't see them as problems. God has a way of opening our eyes, allowing us to recognize the things that are important and the things that really don't matter. He has an eternal perspective, and so seeing things through His eyes and doing things in His timing really is the best way, even it it's not exactly what we want.
Casper, WY!!  This is what I get to see everyday...and I LOVE it!!

This week has been so humbling. I've learned how much I truly need to rely on my Savior in everything that I do. I know that when we trust in Him and open our hearts to His guidance, we really are happier people. I'm so thankful for His patience with me, and all the love that I have felt from Him and the people surrounding me this week.

I love you all!

Week 32: Yes, she emailed late Monday night!! "No Sleep Till Transfers!"

                                                                Our Sister Allen xoxo

Hi Everyone, this is Sister Allen's mom, the editor of the blog! :)  We were out of town this last week and that is why I posted Sister Allen's email from last Monday today!   We got an email late last night from a member of the ward where Sarah is serving.  They said transfer calls came in late Saturday night and our Sister Allen is leaving today for Casper, Wyoming!!!  It is about 3 hours north of Longmont!  Sister Allen won't be able to email us today because she is packing and getting on the road!  I know she LOVED serving in Longmont and will miss that area so much!  We are excited to hear about Casper and the wonderful people she will meet there!  Thanks for loving and praying and supporting our Sister Allen!  :)
*Update: Sister Allen emailed us around 5:00 pm Monday night after she had gotten to Casper, I didn't see it until much later though, I wish I would have known she was emailing!  Here it is:

                                                                                                  Best friends(:

Oh my goodness, this week has been a little bit crazy, but still wonderful. I have officially been transferred! We found out on Saturday and I just got here like 2 hours ago. I will now be serving as an STL in Casper, Wyoming with Sister Williamson. I'm excited for this new adventure and I know that there's a reason I'm here. I love Longmont and am going to miss everyone SO much, especially Sister Jenson. I can honestly say that she is my best friend. God knew that I needed a friend like her in my life. She is so wonderful and I feel very blessed to have spent part of my mission with her. I know she's going to continue to do amazing things throughout her mission. I trust the Lord and know that He has a plan for me(: I can't wait to meet the people I am meant to meet here and see people come closer to the Savior.

We went to Estes Park with the Andersen's on Monday! They are seriously the most wonderful family. I love them so much and am going to miss them. We had a lot of fun and it was beautiful and rainy and misty up there in the mountains. It was a great last p-day in Longmont and I'm really happy we got to go.
Church on a Rock in Estes(:
There is beauty all around...when you're with your best friends(:

We had an awesome lesson with C______this week. He is so cool. Last week, he was feeling so positive about baptism and then when we saw him this week, something seemed different. We asked him what had changed and he told us he had watched a TV preacher and was feeling a little confused. Brother and Sister Andersen bore super powerful testimonies about how God is the only source of complete truth and how C______ needed to trust the answer that he received from Heavenly Father. Brother Andersen also talked about how C______ had a glow the last time he saw him and how it was different this time. The Holy Ghost truly does change your countenance; it makes you a happier and brighter person. And C_____ said, "I want to get that glow back,". It was really neat(: I know that the Lord is going to help him receive answers to his prayers and continue to progress. I can't wait to hear all about it!

We also got to meet with J___ and it was so amazing. Brother and Sister Seyfi came and really connected with him. J____ normally really loves to talk and it can be hard to get him to stay focused, but the spirit was so strong and he was really listening and pondering as we talked to him about the gospel. After the lesson, he said that he loves how he feels when we come over. I know that his heart has been touched and am so happy for him!

R_______ and S______ are wonderful. We weren't able to meet with them this week because S_______ really hurt her shoulder and then their son's basement flooded. Satan really does have a way of making a mess of things. Their faith is so strong though, and they'll be getting baptized as soon as possible(: I'm so incredibly excited for them to make those promises with Heavenly Father. They are going to do amazing things with the Holy Ghost by their side! So cool to think about.

A lot of other really amazing things happened, but my brain is honestly like mush right now because I'm running on not very much sleep and a lot of stress but it is all good! I love the Lord. I love this gospel. It has changed/is continuing to change me in the best way possible. My heart is so happy knowing that I am a daughter of a loving Heavenly Father. He has placed specific people in my life that have helped me feel that love and happiness. Emily, Samuel, Sister J, the Andersen's/Doherty's, the Seyfi's; you all have played a huge role in helping me come closer to Christ and supporting me in this marvelous work. I can't thank you enough and love you all so much. I'm so thankful for the Plan of Salvation, for the fact that friendships and family continues on into the eternities. I love my family and am so thankful for them(:
From left to right: VonKompin's, Andersen's, Sista J, Me, Doherty's(: Aka my family away from home.
Emily's beautiful new hair + sassy Samuel.

I hope you all have the best week ever! Never forget how much you are worth and how much you are loved(:

Love, Sister Allen

Week 31: "LOVE"

"There is sunshine in our souls....and on our faces!"
Hey everybody!(: This week has been SO awesome here in Longmont, and I hope that it's been wonderful for all of you too.

We had a great visit with Brother C_____ and the Doherty's on Monday. The day started off really eventful, with our house almost getting broken into and whatnot, but it's all good(: Brother C_____ has such a strong spirit and is just such a good person. It's awesome seeing him grow happier as he grows in the gospel(:
"Carrie and Seth got Sis. J some strawburry malk and OJ for me!"

On Tuesday, we helped the Andersen's paint their kitchen. It was so much fun! We also met two new potential investigators named J___ and M______. M_____ is one of the nicest people ever. Seriously. He's just happy all the time, I love it! We had an amazing lesson with R_______ and S______. It was so full of the spirit as we talked about eternal marriage and how families really are meant to be forever, lasting far beyond this short period of time that we have on earth. It was so cute seeing how happy they were. They've decided to let their son have his own journey with the gospel, and will be getting baptized as soon as possible. SO excited for them.
                                                                            "Swingin' at a potential's house"

We met with S______ one on one on Wednesday, and had a wonderful lesson. She truly is an amazing woman, so willing to do the will of the Lord and to trust Him. She told us that she and R_______ have adopted us as their daughters and that they want us to come back and visit them with are families after the mission(: Sister Jenson and I are so stoked to go to their sealing next year. So much love for those two. We met with S_____ later and had an awesome lesson. She is so wonderful, I just want her to have all the happiness in the world because she deserves it, and I know that joy really does come from the gospel. Christ wants us to be truly happy. He doesn't want us to be weighed down by guilt, sorrow, or insecurities. He's made it possible to overcome all of that. What a blessing that is(:
"Shopping for foods with Emily!" (:

On Thursday, we had an awesome lesson with Sister H____. She's seriously so cool. She has a lot of health problems, but she sees life in such a positive light, and is such a good example to me of what it means to really have a spirit of optimism. We had a lesson with C______ and her husband and talked about eternal marriage. They are so excited to be sealed to one another, and it's awesome seeing them work together to reach that goal. They have both changed so much. On our way to dinner with the Lawson's (who are so wonderful), we met this boy named C__. He's friends with lots of LDS kids, and agreed to have a lesson with us on Saturday! So awesome.

Friday was my SEVEN MONTH mark. What the heck?! Time seriously is flying by and it's kinda crazy. We met with J____ and had an awesome lesson. I love sharing the message of the Restoration with people. It's so amazing that God really does answer our prayers, does love us, and does have a plan for our lives. After that, we felt like we should go knock on A_______'s door (one of our potentials who we hadn't heard from in a loooong time). She answered, and was like, "I can't believe your here! This is seriously amazing. I'm only home for fifteen minutes for lunch and you just happened to show up. I was meaning to call you the other day. When we were supposed to meet back on the 13th, I got in a car accident. But it was amazing, because that morning I felt like I should drive my husband's truck instead of my little car, even though I never drive the truck and it was pretty much out of gas. When I was on my way to lunch with my little girl, I wasn't paying attention and ran a red light, and I got t-boned in the intersection. The doctor's said that if I would have been driving my little car, my daughter would have been killed. I know that God was telling me to drive my husband's truck that day,". We were amazed! Such a miracle. And she is wanting to meet with us now, because she knows it's not a coincidence that we showed up(: Heavenly Father is always reaching out to us, we just have to stop and listen. We have an appointment with her on Wednesday, and we are so excited! I got to Skype with my family later that night instead of on Mother's Day because they'll be on a cruise(: It was amazing to see them. I'm so thankful for all the love and support they give me and I'm so thankful that God is keeping them safe while I'm away.
"Sweet note from the Dietz's daughter!"

Saturday was a great day. We got to meet with R_______. She's so sweet and really is striving to do what is right. Then we went and saw L____. She is seriously so cute. We just love teaching her. After that we had a lesson with C__. Emily and this girl named A_______ (who he's friends with) came, and it was so awesome. He is so spiritually mature, and really does have a desire to further his relationship with God, which is so cool to see. We also had a lesson with Brother O_________. Sister Baker came with us. She is seriously one of the most amazing people I've ever met. Such a good mom. She gave us lots of advice for life, and it was great. Anyways, Brother O__________ is so wonderful. He is such a genuinely nice person and you can see that his light has gotten brighter as he has been reading and praying. It's amazing. After that, we met with a potential named A___. She is such an amazing girl, and already has a very strong relationship with the Savior. We're excited to continue teaching her.
"Me and my beautiful comp!" (:
Something that I've realized so strongly this week is that the Savior is ALWAYS fighting for us. We receive blessings and miracles every single day. If we pray for eyes to be able to see the tender mercies of the Lord, I know that we will recognize His love more fully in our lives. As we repent daily, we feel a closeness and awareness of His love and we realize our potential as children of a loving Heavenly Father. I'm so grateful for the knowledge I have of His love. And I really hope and pray that all of you know how much you are loved by Him too. We all have so much worth in the sight of God(: He'll never give up on us.

I love you all! Have a great week.

Love, Sister Allen
